List of honorary citizens of Hösbach

Since 1900, Markt Hösbach has granted ten people honorary citizenship. It honors people who have made an outstanding contribution to the community. In the course of the municipal reorganization of Bavaria's incorporated towns Wenighösbach and Winzenhohl, honorary citizenships were also awarded.

The honorary citizens of the Hösbach market

  1. Adam Link (1850--1917)
    Pastor
    Awarded on June 17, 1900
    Link was pastor in Hösbach from September 16, 1885 to October 7, 1901. His services to the community were recognized.
  2. Franz Haslauer (* 1838; † 1907)
    pharmacist
    Awarded on July 22, 1906
    With the award of honorary citizenship, the congregation thanked him for the organ foundation for the new church. One street also bears the name Haslauers.
  3. Jakob Seus († 1920)
    Head teacher
    Awarded on January 2, 1917
    From 1889 on, Seus was the headmaster in Hösbach for 28 years. In addition, he earned services as a parish clerk and in building the new church. He was a co-founder of the local fruit growing association. On the occasion of his retirement he was made an honorary citizen. An alley in the village bears his name. His grave is in the Hösbacher Friedhof.
  4. Burkhard Weissenberger (* 1885; † 1962)

    Weissenberger was a pastor in Hösbach from 1921 to 1937 and significantly supported the building of a school in the Hösbach-Bahnhof district. On the occasion of his golden jubilee as a priest, the community honored him with the award of honorary citizenship. Weissenberger was pastor in Astheim at this time. A street is also named after him.
  5. Dr. Albert Frank (* 1914; † 1996)

    The veterinarian Albert Frank was active in local politics as a local councilor from 1960 to 1996. From 1962 to 1996 he served as the second mayor. He campaigned in particular for the interests of the Hösbach-Bahnhof district. For 32 years he was chairman of the sports club SpVgg Hösbach-Bahnhof . Two years after being made an honorary citizen, he was also awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 1991.
  6. Ernst Pfahler (* 1924; † 1999)

    From 1960 to 1996, Pfahler was active in local politics as a member of the local council. From 1966 to 1972 he was deputy mayor and from 1972 until it was incorporated into Hösbach in 1978, first mayor of the Rottenberg community. During his term of office, the renovation of the town hall, the forest cemetery and the forest chapel as well as the construction of the outdoor pool fall. He also worked as a local researcher for the Hösbacher Ortschronik, the chronicles of Feldkahl and Rottenberg, and the yearbook Unser Kahlgrund . For many years he was chairman of the sports club TSV Rottenberg and the local club ring. In grateful recognition of his services, he was made an honorary citizen. In 1983 he had already been awarded the Federal Republic's Medal of Merit. In addition, a street is named after him.

    Simon was ordained priest on March 11, 1962 in Würzburg Cathedral. In 1967, in addition to his work as a religion teacher at the state secondary school for boys in Aschaffenburg, he was entrusted with the St. Barbara Curate in Wenighösbach. There he made great contributions to the welfare of the people. On the occasion of his 40-year priestly ministry in the community, he was made an honorary citizen in grateful recognition for his commitment.
  8. Robert Hain (* 1950)

    Robert Hain was a member of the market town council from 1984 to 1988 and from February 1, 1988 to 2012 full-time first mayor of the Hösbach market. His future-oriented construction and infrastructure projects as well as activities for the sustainable development of the market were recognized.
  9. Erich Lippert (* 1949)

    Erich Lippert has been a member of the CSU parliamentary group in the municipal council without interruption since 1990. From 1996 to 2014 he worked as the second mayor. He is also actively involved in the board of several associations. His lifetime achievement for the community was honored.

Honorary citizen of the Wenighösbach community

  1. Karl Seitz (* 1911; † 1967)

    Awarded on January 12, 1958
    Seitz was a full-time pastor of the local chaplaincy Wenighösbach from 1923 to 1932 . During this time he directed the construction of the new church, which was consecrated on September 28, 1930. He was granted honorary citizenship for his commitment to the construction of the house of God and because of his solidarity with the rural population. In addition, a street bears his name.

Honorary citizen of the Winzenhohl community

  1. Viktor Maier (* 1908; † 2006)

    Maier was mayor of Winzenhohl from 1945 to 1952 and then again from 1964 to 1978. His first term of office was marked by the problems of the post-war period. In his second term of office, he continued the expansion of the St. Bruno settlement and the life aid workshops in Schmerlenbach were established. To improve the local infrastructure, the town hall was relocated and a new cemetery and gymnasium were built. With the incorporation of Winzenhohl into the Hösbach market, Maier was made an honorary citizen and received the title of former mayor . A street is also named after him. In 1979, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his commitment to the Lebenshilfe workshops .
  2. Georg Göring (* 1928; † 2005)

    Awarded on April 29, 1978
    Göring was a pastor from 1959 to 1988 in Schmerlenbach and Hösbach-Bahnhof. During this time the new building of the Mother of God Church in Winzenhohl fell. He was the initiator of the pilgrimages to Schmerlenbach and made a significant contribution to the preservation of the dilapidated church and abbey building. He strongly advocated its expansion into an educational center. He was a co-founder of the Schmerlenbach Lebenshilfe association , which campaigns for disabled people, and the associated workshops. A street is named after Göring. In 1991 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon for his various services .
