    Emisch served as a voluntary city councilor for 43 years, including 30 years as 1st alderman. He was also a member of the district council for 24 years and held numerous honorary positions. He was made an honorary citizen as a token of admiration and gratitude for the great services he has made during his 25 years of service as an alderman in the service of the city .
