List of Hiroshima Governors
This list of the governors of Hiroshima ( Japanese 広 島 県 知事 , Hiroshima kenchiji ) includes all governors ( chiji , in the early years also kenrei and other titles) of the Japanese prefecture (ken) Hiroshima since the abolition of the principality ( han ) Hiroshima in 1871. Like the governors of all prefectures, the governor of Hiroshima has been elected by the people for four-year terms since the dissolution of the Interior Ministry and the introduction of the Self-Government Act under the 1947 Constitution.
Note: It is unclear whether the dates prior to the 1873 calendar change were Japanese or Gregorian. For the conversion, see if necessary Meiji time # Conversion into the Gregorian calendar .
