Description of the stone bridge in front of the Weickersdorfer mill at the Weickersdorf train station (Bischofswerda district, vol. 4, survey questionnaire from 1957): “Arched bridge over the Dorfbach made of granite stones, here the road from Stolpen to Bischofswerda went, which August the Strong used when he followed Poland drove. On the east side above the arch two stone slabs, the lower one shows the monogram AR and the year 1729, the upper one bears the number 1831 in raised digits, the year of the new building. Since this is the main traffic route for the communities Weickersdorf, Großdrebnitz and Lauterbach, the bridge is to be expanded. The Weickersdorf community wants to build them in the same style and with the same boards. " |
