The award Member of the Order of Canada ( Engl. For a member of the Order of Canada ) the lowest level of is Order of Canada , Canada's highest award for civilians. Its members have made exceptional contributions to Canada or Canadians at the local or regional level. 136 “Members” are appointed annually. The bearers are entitled to use the suffix CM , but it is mostly written CM (for Canadian members). As of June 21, 2008 there were living members in 2017. A total of 3268 people were given the award.
