Tilia cordata , four trees, and Quercus robur , one tree.

When it was placed under protection in 1984, the “tree population at the Bechtolsheim school” comprised four winter linden trees and one pedunculate oak . The protection purpose is the preservation of the trees as individual creations of nature, whose special protection is necessary because of their age, because of their beauty and the character that characterizes the townscape of Bechtolsheim. Two linden trees in the schoolyard were so badly damaged by the hurricanes ( Daria , Vivian , Wiebke ) in the first quarter of 1990 that they had to be felled for safety reasons. For this purpose, a new linden tree was planted in the schoolyard, the other space was used to expand the school with a classroom in a container building.
