This is a list of the number one hits in Billboard's Most Played Juke Box Folk Records (Hillbillies, Spirituals, Cowboy Songs, etc.) in the United States in 1948. Additionally, from May 15, 1948, the Best Selling Retail Folk Records were collected based on the sales figures of selected leading record distributors with a focus on folk music. These charts are considered to be the predecessors of the Hot Country Songs introduced in 1958 . There were seven number one songs that year.
