List of ships with the name Almirante Grau

BAP Almirante Grau was and is the name of four ships of the Peruvian Navy that were named after Admiral Miguel Grau Seminario .

  • The first BAP Almirante Grau was a protected cruiser built in the UK. On August 10, 1907, she arrived in Peru with her sister ship, the BAP Corornel Bolognesi . On June 24, 1958, she was decommissioned , also together with the BAP Coronel Bolognesi .
  • The third BAP Almirante Grau (CLM-81) , a light cruiser built in the Netherlands, was originally named De Ruyter . In 1973 she was commissioned by the Peruvian Navy. It is still in use today. Between 1985 and 1988, while modernization work was being carried out on the ship in Amsterdam, the name was changed to Proyecto de Modernización 01 or PM-01 .
  • The BAP Aguirre (CH-84) , commissioned by the Peruvian Navy in 1978 , was called BAP Almirante Grau (CH-81) from 1985 to 1988, while the BAP Almirante Grau (CLM-81) was modernized . Originally the light cruiser was part of the Royal Dutch Navy under the name of Mr. Ms. De Zeven Provinciën (C 802).
