List of wolf records in Germany 1900-2000
The list of wolf records in Germany 1900-2000 only lists cases that document the natural re-immigration of wolves . Enclosure outbreaks and reports from known populated areas are not taken into account. The wolf was exterminated in what is now Germany by 1850 at the latest; all wolves that appeared from the second half of the 19th century to the end of the 20th century were very likely immigrants.
After a wolf was shot in Lusatia in 1904 , there was no clear evidence of the presence of a wolf in the area until 1948. Since 1996 wolves have been returning to Germany from Upper Lusatia in Saxony . In 2000, the birth of puppies was registered again for the first time in Germany, namely in Lausitz.
