The Lithuanian Technical Library (lit.Lietuvos technikos biblioteka ) is a library in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius .

history

In August 1957, the National Economic Council of Soviet Lithuania founded the Central Scientific and Technical Library (CMTB). From 1959 to 1974 the library branches were established in the port city of Klaipėda , Panevėžys and Šiauliai , in 1964 in Marijampolė, 1970 in Kaunas and 1974 in Alytus . In 1965 Republic Patents Fund (RPF) was set up in the library. In 1998 Valstybinis patentų biuras (VPB) became the founder of the library. A Patent Information Center (PIC) has existed since 1999.
