Edward George Skrein (born March 29, 1983 in London ) is a British actor and rapper .

Life

Skrein grew up in Camden, London . After completing his bachelor's degree in art at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design , Skrein initially concentrated on his music and was active as an MC at various music festivals in Europe. He has worked with numerous artists inside and outside the recording studio, including Foreign Beggars, Plan B , Dubbledge, Dr. Syntax, Asian Dub Foundation, and Nathan "Flutebox" Lee.

His first film role was the main role of Ed Richardson in the English crime film Ill Manors from 2012. After other film roles, Skrein gained international fame in 2013 with the role of Daario Naharis, which he played in the third season of the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones played. He left the show at the end of the season after only three episodes, the Dutch actor Michiel Huisman took on Skrein's role. In 2015, Skrein stated in an interview that the reason for leaving the series was "behind the scenes politics".

In 2014 he was seen in the film Northmen - A Viking Saga by the Swiss director Claudio Fäh , which celebrated its world premiere at the 10th Zurich Film Festival .

In The Transporter Refueled , the fourth part of the Transporter films, which hit German cinemas in September 2015, Skrein took on the lead role of Frank Martin, who was played by Jason Statham in the previous parts .

Skrein is committed to charities. So he swam across the English Channel for the British NSPCC , an organization for the protection against child abuse, cycled 1000 miles from Land's End to John o 'Groats for the now closed television station KidsCo .

Skrein is mostly dubbed by Manuel Straube .
