Michiel Huisman
Michiel Huisman (born July 18, 1981 in Amstelveen , North Holland ) is a Dutch actor .
Life
Michiel Huisman was born in Amstelveen, near the capital Amsterdam . He started acting when he was ten. In the Netherlands he was a member of the Fontaine band , who wrote the score for the Dutch film Costa! grossed. Huisman himself took on one of the main roles in the film mentioned. The band later broke up. After that, Huisman played mainly in isolated episodes of various television series and smaller film productions. For this work he has been nominated and awarded several prizes.
In 2006 Huisman took on a role in the film drama Black Book , where he could be seen alongside his fellow actress Carice van Houten . In 2009 he appeared in the BBC production Margot in the role of the Soviet dancer Rudolf Chametowitsch Nurejew . In the same year he portrayed the German nobleman Ernst II of Saxony-Coburg in the historical film Victoria, the young queen .
He established himself on American television with a recurring role as Sonny on the HBO series Treme , which Huisman played from 2010 to 2013. This was followed by appearances in Nashville (2012 to 2014) and Orphan Black (2014 to 2015). Between the fourth and sixth seasons of the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones , he played the role of the mercenary Daario Naharis , who had previously been played by Ed Skrein . Huisman also starred in several Hollywood films, including supporting roles in World War Z (2013) and The Big Trip - Wild (2014), as well as a leading role alongside Blake Lively in Forever Adaline (2015).
Michiel Huisman has been married to Tara Elders since 2008 and has a daughter (* 2007). They live together in New Orleans , where Treme was set .
