Lithuanian passport

The Lithuanian passport (lit. Lietuvos Respublikos piliečio pasas ) is a travel document , the general traveling the Lithuanian nationals to foreign countries is issued. A distinction must be made here between the service passport and the diplomatic passport , which are intended for travel by representatives of the issuing state in an official capacity.

The Lithuanian passport is a sovereign document, the design of which is regulated in the Lithuanian Passport Act ( Lietuvos Respublikos asmens tapatybės kortelės ir paso įstatymas ). Lithuanian identity documents such as passport and identity card fall into Lithuania in the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Interior of Lithuania .

The Lithuanian passport allows you to travel to many countries without a visa - in May 2018, the Henley Passport Index came in 10th.

Every Lithuanian can receive a passport from birth, but for minors up to 16 years of age, the application requires the consent of the guardian.
