Liubavas

Liubavas is a village in the municipality of Kalvarija , 14 km southwest of the city of Kalvarija , 2 km from the Lithuanian- Polish border. In 1770 the parish and its parish school were founded; In 1781 there were 5 and in 1784 about 9 students. Since 1956 there is a catholic church ( Dreifaltigkeitskirche Liubavas ). 16 teachers work and 93 pupils study in the Liubavas secondary school. In the village there is a library, a medicine point, a hall for recreational activities, a post office (LT-69044).
