General
Living the Blues is one of the early double albums in rock history. The album is divided into two parts: the first record is a studio production, the second record is a 40-minute live piece that has been split over two sides of the record. The piece Refried Boogie is an extended live version of the above on the second album Boogie with Canned Heat released Fried Hockey Boogie .
The album also features Going Up the Country , which became the group's biggest hit as a single. It reached the top of the charts in 25 countries.
