Livre usuelle

The livre usuelle or the permitted pound was a French name for a measure of weight. The measure was half a kilogram or 500 grams . It was divided into 4 quarterons or 16 once / ounces of 8 gros each. Further subdivisions and designations were

  • 1 demi-livre = 250 grams
  • 1 quarteron = 125 grams
  • 1 demi-quarteron = 62.5 grams
  • 1 ounce / once = 31.3 grams
