Ljubiša Stanković

Ljubiša Stanković (born June 1, 1960 ) is a Montenegrin engineer and politician.

Life

Stanković studied electrical engineering from 1978 to 1982 at the University of Titograd (now the University of Montenegro ) and from 1982 to 1984 at the University of Belgrade . In 1988 he received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Montenegro. The title of his thesis was Modified least squares residual method (using the FFT algorithms) with applications to the diffraction problems and waveguides of complex cross section . Since 1995 he has been a full professor at the Electrotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro. From 2003 to 2008 he was the rector of this university. In 2012 he was elected IEEE Fellow and a full member of the Academia Europaea .

Stanković was from 1990 to 1993 chairman of the Socialist Party of Montenegro. From 1990 to 1992 he was a member of the parliament of the Yugoslav Republic of Montenegro, from 1992 to 1996 in the parliament of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
