The Ljubljana Silverhawks are a Slovenian American football team that was founded in 2002. Having won all six Slovenian championships to date, the Silverhawks are the undisputed top team in Slovenia. The Silverhawks are a founding member of the Southeastern European League of American Football . In the 2016 season , the Silverhawks played in the Austrian Football League and reached the play-offs there. A year later they repeated this success and finished the basic round as a third-placed team. At the end of their third AFL season they withdrew from the Austrian league system due to financial difficulties.
