Lluís Dalmau

Lluís Dalmau (* 1400, † 1460 in Valencia , Spain ) was a Catalan painter of the Gothic .

Life

Dalmau was court painter to King Alfonso V of Aragon . In 1431 he went to Bruges to study oil technology at the Flemish School. In 1437 he returned to Spain. The only work that can be clearly attributed to him, Madonna Throne (1443–45), clearly reveals Jan van Eyck's influence .
