Load interval

The load interval is a term used in strength training with dumbbells and exercise machines.

The load interval describes the next possible increase in weight when using a dumbbell or a training machine. It depends on the weight plates used or on the respective machine in the gym . Typical load intervals are: 1; 2.5; 5; 10. The load interval 2.5 means that when using a barbell, 1.25 kilograms more weight can be placed on each of the two sides as the smallest weight.
