Loch Lochy ( Loch Lochaidh in Scottish Gaelic ) is a large freshwater lake in the highlands of Scotland . It is over 16 kilometers long, on average two kilometers wide, up to 162 m deep and is located about 16 kilometers southwest of Loch Ness in the Great Glen . The Lochy River flows out of the lake to the southwest, while the Caledonian Canal connects the lake to Loch Oich to the northeast .
Lizzie is said to live in the lake, a twelve-meter-long monster who is said to have resemblances to Nessie , the Loch Ness monster.
