The Lofotakvariet (German as much as Lofoten aquarium ) is an aquarium in Kabelvåg ( Norway ).

The first aquarium was founded in 1931 and remained in operation until 1985, when it had to be closed. Then a new building was built, which was opened in 1989.

The main focus of the aquarium is the marine life of the North Sea . It has 23 individual pools. The number of visitors is around 50,000 per year.

In addition to the large fish aquarium, a seal and an otter tank are a special attraction . A fish farm is also operated for research purposes. In the exhibition "The Sea - The Big Treasure Chest", the three important Norwegian economic sectors - fishery, aquaculture and oil - are also presented in summary.
