Kabelvåg
Kabelvåg is a village in the municipality of Vågan in Lofoten . In 2012 the village had 1712 inhabitants.
Kabelvåg goes back to Øystein Magnusson , who built a church and some fishermen's huts there in 1103 . After the Heimskringla , however, the first town in Northern Norway was founded several centuries earlier in this area, bearing the name Vågar.
The most important industries are fishing and tourism. Tourist attractions are the Lofotakvariet , the Galleri Espolin, the Lofotmuseet and the Vågan kirke .
In addition to a primary school and a secondary school, there is also the Lofoten folkehøgskole and the Nordland kunst- og filmskole .
