Loikaemie is a German Oi! - Band that is also attributed to street punk. It was founded in Plauen in October 1994 .

history

The band's origins were the two friends Ronny and Micha, who were looking for musicians for a band among their friends. After changing lineups several times, the band took on solid form in the winter of 1994/1995. The band's first demo tape was created in 1995, about a year later their first album Ihr für uns und wir für dich was released , which was indexed because of the songs Leichenschänder and Perverse Sau and was only reissued in 2000 without these titles and with a new cover.

After disagreements among the musicians, the band's founder Ronny left in autumn 1997. In 1999, Loikaemie also contributed to the soundtrack of the award-winning film Oi! Warning from the two German filmmakers Ben and Dominik Reding . In 2006, Micha separated from the band and Paul took his place on drums and guitarist Eddie switched to bass. After a break of several years, the band has been playing with a new line-up since 2011 (Bruno took over the drums, Paul switched back to bass and Eddie back to guitar). In December 2014 they played their last two concerts in the sold out Conne Island in Leipzig.

For the most part, the texts deal with "being Oi! -Skin " and its problems and advantages as well as reasons for this way of life. Furthermore, the band tries to convey “skinhead values” (for example a skinhead without boots ), to set itself apart politically ( you for us and we for you , we are the skins or Good Night White Pride ) as well as to criticize society and some social classes and professions or defame ( skin the people on the mouth ). The lyrics of the band deal with the hatred of the alleged stupidity of the people, the press (such as your'm sorry , skin the people on the mouth ) and the "sick" society (z. B. I come into the world ). Loikaemie distance themselves from neo-Nazi skinheads and were never represented in the neo-Nazi scene or were considered “acceptable” there. Singer Thomas countered earlier rumors about the band in an exclusive interview with Pressure Magazine in 2003.

In the song Das ist kein Leben , the band quotes the misanthropic protagonist of the film Misanthrope .

On March 16, Loikaemie announced that it would perform at the Back-to-Future Festival 2019 in Glaubitz.
