Local adverb
The local adverb - also: local adverb or circumstance word of the place - is a type of adverb . The local adverb usually refers to the verb and determines its local (local) circumstances.
A distinction is made within the local adverbs:
- Adverbs of the place in the narrower sense or position adverbs (question word: where?): Here, there, left, in front, behind, everywhere, ...
- Adverbs of direction (also called directional adverbs or directional adverbs ) in the broader sense:
- Adverbs of direction in the narrower sense (question word: where to?): Up, forward, down, there, around, around, down, ...
- Adverbs of origin (also Herkunftsadverbien called; question word: Where?): Thence, down, down ...
- through, ...
A local adverb used in a sentence is referred to as a clause or a supplement as a local adverbial .
