Local search engine optimization

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Local search engine optimization (short: Local SEO ) is a sub-area of search engine optimization and comprises the optimization measures on the Internet that lead to websites being better listed in search engines for local search queries . The locally specific results of the search query in the search engine depend on the one hand on the specified location-related search words and on the other hand on the location of the searcher determined by geotargeting . Local search engine optimization is part of targeted advertising and geomarketing .

A distinction is made here between on-site and off-site optimization. OnSite optimization includes measures for your own website such as entering location and address data and local keywords . Off-site optimization includes, among other things, the creation of business entries in industry directories and local portals such as Google My Business , entry in online map services such as Google Maps or Apple Maps ( mapvertising ), the entry of events, the establishment of local links and the generation and that Observation of online ratings for the content presented on the website on rating portals. In the gastronomy and tourism sectors, these are, for example, Yelp or TripAdvisor , while career portals, company evaluation portals and product tests are relevant for commercial companies.
