Mapvertising

Mapvertising is a form of Internet advertising and refers to the switching of advertising on online - maps and directions sites such as Google Maps , Virtual Earth or Yahoo Maps . Depending on the search query, different advertising messages are displayed that are related to the spatial context of the search (so-called geo-contextually targeted display ads ). The advertising can take the form of banner advertising or place geographical markings on advertising objects on the map. In the case of mobile devices such as a smartphone , GPS technology can also be used to display advertising when certain locations are reached.
