The Lombu Lombu , also called Lombu Lombu Djongdjong or Lombu Lombu Jongjong , is a hand sign from Sumatra in Indonesia .
description
The Lombu Lombu is rectangular and is usually made of buffalo leather or wood. The right side is a little longer than the left side, so the hand shield looks slightly irregular. A kind of comb is usually attached to the upper end and a shape similar to a buffalo tail at the lower end. These markings are used to imitate an ox (Indonesian: lombu). A deep black is usually chosen as the color. Feathers, which are attached to the upper and lower edges, serve as decoration.
The handle on the back is made of rattan cords tied together . The term “lombu lombu jongjong” means (Indonesian) “standing ox”. The Lombu Lombu is used by the Toba Batak ethnic groups in Sumatra in Indonesia.
