Longinos (sculptor)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Longinos ( ancient Greek Λονγεῖνος ), son of a Longinos, was an ancient sculptor who was probably active in Isauria in Asia Minor during the Roman Empire in the third century . Today it is only known from the signature on an Ostothek ("bone box" ) that was found in Sobran (today Bağyurdu ). On this he is named as a sculptor with his brother Fuscus ( ancient Greek λατύπος ). The Ostothek is now in the Konya Archaeological Museum .
