Lord Münsterland Caravan ( LMC Caravan GmbH & Co. KG ) is a company based in Sassenberg ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). LMC Caravan GmbH & Co. KG is part of the Erwin Hymer Group and manufactures caravans and mobile homes for the European market.
History & News
In 1955, the designer Austermann designed the “Bud” caravan. Eleven years later, in 1966, Wilhelm Saure took over the Austermann company and founded "Wilhelm Saure KG" in Sassenberg.
The company in Sassenberg saw a clearly positive development at the end of the 1960s. The order development was rapid, which is why large parts of the production were handled in cooperation with the Karmann company in Rheine until 1974. Production was expanded to Warendorf at the end of the 1970s, where the first mobile homes were built.
The company was re-established in the early 1980s and has since operated under the name "LMC Lord Münsterland Caravan GmbH". In addition, new shareholders were accepted and the production facility in Sassenberg was expanded. LMC Lord Münsterland Caravan GmbH was able to achieve great success with its series Münsterland, Luxus, Münsterland-Dominant, Lord and Lord Exquisit. In addition, the company's export business was expanded.
In 1995 the TEC company moved completely from Mühlheim to Sassenberg. In order to continue to meet the needs and demands of customers, investments were made in 2000 in a new customer service center, in a new production and logistics hall as well as in new machines and systems.
In 2005 the company also entered the motorhome market and for the first time alcoves and semi-integrated motorhomes were built on Ford Transit chassis in Sassenberg .
In 2013, T. E. C. Caravan GmbH & Co. KG and LMC Caravan GmbH & Co. KG merged to form LMC Caravan GmbH & Co. KG. Only two years later, in 2015, the company celebrated its 60th anniversary. In 2018, a plant expansion with new production technologies, air conditioning and others was inaugurated.
