Lorenzo Geyres is a town in western Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the 11th sector of the Paysandú Department, a few kilometers northeast of La Constancia and southwest of the town of Queguayar . To the north is Quebracho . A few kilometers south of the village, the Río Queguay Grande flows , between whose two right-hand tributaries de Agesta and de las Piedras Lorenzo Geyres is located.
history
Lorenzo Geyres was declared a pueblo by law on May 29, 1928 . The name of the place can be traced back to the estanciero of the same name located there at the Estación Queguay .
Infrastructure

The Salto - Paso de los Toros railway line runs through Lorenzo Geyres with the stop there, the Estación Queguay , which has existed since 1890 . The Ruta 3 runs east of the village and connects to the departmental capital Paysandú .
education
In Lorenzo Geyres there is also a school with the Escuela Nº 48 .
Culture
Lorenzo Geyres is the venue of the wild boar hunt festival Festival de la Caza del Jabalí , the third edition of which counted around 3000 participants.
