The Loretto School is a leading private school in Scotland . It was founded in 1827, making it the oldest boarding school in Scotland. The Loretto School is located in Musselburgh , a suburb of Edinburgh . It has around 500 students, who are divided into the Junior School (three to twelve year olds) and the Senior School (twelve to 18 year olds). In the sixth form (twelfth and thirteenth grade), students take the so-called A-Levels, the British Abitur. The school is famous for its golf academy, which is considered the best in Great Britain. Several famous people attended the Loretto School, including several politicians, a Hollywood actor and a two-time Formula 1 world champion.
