Los Angeles Wolves

Los Angeles Wolves is a former football club from Los Angeles , USA , which existed in 1967 and 1968. In 1967 the club became American champions. It was owned by sports and media entrepreneur Jack Kent Cooke .

In mid-1967 the English club Wolverhampton Wanderers FC took part as Los Angeles Wolves in the championship of the then official football association of the USA , the United Soccer Association , and took first place out of six participants in the Western Division and defeated Aberdeen, who played Washington Whips , in the final FC from Scotland 6-5 after extra time. Home stadium that year was the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum .

In 1968 the team, which was mainly composed of English, but also a Norwegian and some South Americans, played in the first play of the North American Soccer League in the Pacific Division and came third there. Home stadium that year was the Rose Bowl Stadium .

Then the association, like some others, was dissolved.
