Lotaryov D-18
The Lotarjow D-18 (also called Iwtschenko Progress D-18 ) is a three-shaft turbofan engine with a high bypass ratio made by the manufacturer Iwtschenko Progress , which was developed in the Soviet Union and named after Vladimir Alexejewitsch Lotarjow .
The turbofan engine was first used on a maiden flight in 1982 and was designed for the two aircraft types Antonov An-124 and An-225 . It is considered to be one of the most powerful engines in the world.
Related engines are the D-18TM and D-18TP, which were to be used on the planned An-218 .
