Lothar Lorch

Lothar Lorch (born May 3, 1957 in Haßloch ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was mayor of the municipality of Haßloch in the Palatinate from 2013 to 2020.

Professional and political activities

In 1974 Lorch joined the public service of the Bad Dürkheim district administration , where he was employed until 1982. He then moved to the administration of the municipality of Haßloch and worked there for 38 years. Later he was first alderman and was elected mayor in 2013. In this capacity, he followed Hans-Ulrich Ihlenfeld after, the district administrator of the district of Bad Durkheim was.

At the end of July 2020, Lorch announced that he had decided to retire at the end of August 14, 2020 , as he could no longer exercise his office as mayor for health reasons. Originally, he wanted to run the official business until the end of June 2021 and then forego another candidacy.
