Lowri Evans

Lowri Evans is a UK EU civil servant who has been Director General of the European Union's Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) Directorate-General since 2015 . Before that, she was Director General of the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries since 2010 .

Lowri Evans is from Wales . She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Liverpool University .

Evans was a chartered accountant from 1978 to 1983 . She then joined the European Commission , initially in the Directorate-General for Financial Control. After several career stages, in 2006 she became Deputy General Director in the General Directorate for Competition. Since July 2010 she has headed the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
