The inscription ( RIB 1544 )
Lucius Antonius Proculus was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 3rd century AD .
An inscription on an altar that was found at Brocolitia Castle shows that Proculus was prefect of the Cohors I Batavorum around 211/222 , who was stationed in the province of Britannia at that time .
