Lucius Atilius (military)
Lucius Atilius was a Roman military of the late 3rd century BC who came from the plebeian line of the Atilians . Chr.
During the Second Punic War , Atilius was in 215 BC. BC as praefectus commander of the Roman occupation of Locri in southern Italy . When the city of Hannibal surrendered, Atilius and his soldiers were secretly released from the city by the inhabitants of Locri and led to the port, from where they embarked for Rhegium .
