Lucius Pompeius Vopiscus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lucius Pompeius Vopiscus was a Roman suffect consul in 69.

Pompey came from Vienna . Emperor Otho appointed him, together with Lucius Verginius Rufus , suffect consul for the months of March and April of the year 69. The consulate was supposedly given to Pompeius as a result of his old friendship with Otho. “In many cases, however, it was interpreted to mean that it was done in honor of Vienna”.
