Lucius of Cyrene

Lucius of Cyrene was one of the first Christians . He is mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as one of the “prophets and teachers” in Antioch ( Acts 13.1  EU ). Apparently Lucius originally came from Cyrene and is said to have become bishop either there or in Laodicea . Lucius is numbered among the seventy disciples and venerated as a saint . His feast day is May 6th .
