Ludwig Simon (ornithologist)

Ludwig Simon (* 1956 ) is a German ornithologist , author on topics of nature and environmental protection and head of the department for biological diversity and species protection at the State Office for the Environment, Water Management and Trade Supervision of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Life

After graduating from the Max-Slevogt-Gymnasium and studying biology, Ludwig Simon, in addition to his work as head of the department for species protection at the State Office for the Environment of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, is an author and nature conservationist, particularly with birds, amphibians, leaf pods, crayfish and Reptiles.

One of his main areas of research is changing the breeding behavior of birds in the face of an increasingly human-determined habitat. He is significantly involved in the development of species protection programs.

Ludwig Simon is the author and co-author of numerous books on the protection of nature and species.
