The Ludwigsburg is listed Profan building in Ludwigsburg road 5 in Bad Berleburg in Siegen-Wittgenstein ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

Two half-timbered buildings are offset from one another in a fenced garden area . The eastern wing was built from 1707 to 1709 under the direction of Johann Hermann Riedesel ( Mannus Riedesel ), the western wing on behalf of Count Casimir zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg for his youngest brother Ludwig Franz zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Ludwigsburg (* 13. December 1694, † February 24, 1750). It is marked 1724. The complex served at times as the seat of a count's branch line founded by Ludwig Franz. Around 1900 a staircase and corner turrets were built between the two wings. Both parts of the house are decorated with inscriptions and elaborate carved decorations on the framework; on the older part with the ornamental shapes characteristic of Riedesel.
