The Monte Botanical Garden cable car is one of five cable cars on the island of Madeira .

The cable car leads from the Botanical Garden over the Vale da Ribeira de João Gomes to the mountain station in Monte . It stretches over 1,600 meters, a nine-minute drive , and reaches a height of 220 meters. The cable car has twelve cabins with six seats each. From a technical point of view, it is a monocable gondola . A trip is also possible as a round trip with a view of Funchal . Combined tickets with a visit to the botanical garden and a ride on the Funchal – Monte cable car are available.
