biography

society

As far as understandable, Argüelles played in his more than 18-year career as an active football player exclusively for CF Asturias , with whom he won the championship title for the first time in the 1922/23 season. His affiliation to CF Asturias can also be proven for the seasons 1925/26, 1937/38, 1938/39 (winning the second championship title) and 1940/41.

National team

Argüelles made his debut in the jersey of the Mexican national team on September 12, 1937 in a 7-2 win over the USA, to which he contributed three goals. It was also the only international match that was played in “his” stadium, Parque Asturias . Also in the next two international matches, which also took place in September 1937 against the USA (7: 3 and 5: 1), Argüelles played with and scored one goal each. His last international match was in the 2-1 win over Costa Rica on February 22, 1938. It was also the Mexicans' last international match for nine and a half years, because the next was only on July 13, 1947 against the USA (5-0) carried out.
