Luis Escobar Kirkpatrick

Luis Escobar y Kirkpatrick, VII Marqués de las Marismas del Guadalquivir (born September 5, 1908 in Madrid , † February 16, 1991 ibid.) Was a Spanish actor and theater director.

Escobar studied law and in 1938 became head of the theater department in the Inninmisistrium of the government of Francisco Franco . After the war he worked for the Teatro Español de Madrid , later he headed the Teatro María Guerrero and the Teatro Español , finally he founded his own theater, the Eslava , where he played plays such as El caso de la mujer asesinadita , Una mujer cualquiera , Te espero en el Eslava and Los salvajes en Puente San Gil brought you to the stage.

In 1974 he made his television debut in the series El pícaro , later he worked in other television productions such as Don Baldomero y su gente , Anillos de oro , Goya and Brigada Central . In 1977 Luis García Berlanga engaged him for his film La escopeta nacional , where he had great success in the role of Marqués de Leguineche . He also starred in the two sequels of the film, Patrimonio Nacional and Nacional III and other feature films, including La Sabina , ¡Qué vienen los socialistas! , La colmena , La gran comedia , Soldadito español , Al-Andalus (El camino del sol) and Don Juan, mi querido fantasma . Escobar died in 1991 while filming Fernando Fernán Gómez 's film Fuera de juego .
