Lujulo

Lujulo is a Payam (administrative division) in Morobo County , Yei River State , South Sudan .

geography

The district is located in the highlands in the south, on the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo . The plateau extends to over 1100  m height (1195 m). In 2010, 16,800 inhabitants were determined.

history

In January and February 2019, there was still fighting between government troops and the rebels under General Thomas Cirillo in the region . Numerous people were on the run, most of the settlements have been destroyed.

climate

Lujulo is characterized by a tropical savannah climate (Aw) with dry, warm winters and moist, cooler summers. Due to the altitude, the average temperatures are slightly lower than in other comparable regions.
