The Lukaskirche is a Protestant church in the Erfurt district of Daberstedt . It belongs to the parish Erfurt-Südost in the parish of Erfurt of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The Lukaskirche on Stadtweg in Erfurt was built in 1911/1912 after the residents of the newly created residential area (Neu-) Daberstedt had founded a church building association in 1905. It was built in neo-baroque form based on a design by the architect Kummer, based on the appearance of the earlier St. George's Chapel on the brain goat mountain. The new church was inaugurated on August 4, 1912. It received its current name in 1962 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the consecration.

In 1945 the Lukaskirche was damaged by a bomb and then repaired again by 1948. In 1970 the interior of the church was renovated. In the 1990s, a thorough renovation of the interior of the church began, including restoration of the organ, the stairs, the entrance and the outer walls, as well as the area. On September 2, 2012, the 100th anniversary of the church was celebrated “in a new splendor” with a festive service.
