The Lunda are a Bantu ethnic group in Angola , Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

Their population is around 175,000, according to other sources 310,000 (1998); 220,000 of them in Zambia, 90,000 in Angola and unspecified in the Dem. Rep. Congo. Their languages ​​are Chilunda and Kiluba . Dialects are Lunda Ndembu, Lunda Kalandu, Lunda Kambove. In Zambia, the Lunda live in the Northwest Province and the Copperbelt . A well-known representative of the Lunda tribe was the Congolese politician Moise Tschombé .
