Luuka

The city of Luuka , also known as Luuka Municipality but often simply called Luuka, is a city in eastern Uganda. Before July 1, 2010, Luuka City was known as "Kiyunga". It is the main political, administrative and commercial center of the Luuka district .

location

The city of Luuka is located in the Luuka District, Busoga sub-region, in the eastern region of Uganda. It is located approximately 28 kilometers (17 miles) northwest of Iganga, the closest major city. It is located about 50 kilometers by road northeast of Jinja, the largest city in the sub-region. The approximate coordinates of the city are: 0 ° 45'51.0 "N, 33 ° 19'55.0" E (latitude: 0.764167; longitude: 33.331944).
