The Luxembourgish-language Wikipedia (lux. Lëtzebuergesch Wikipedia or Wikipedia op Lëtzebuergesch ) is the edition of the free Internet encyclopedia Wikipedia in Luxembourgish . In November 2018 it contained almost 55,000 articles, making it one of the medium-sized Wikipedia editions. It ranks 82nd in terms of the number of articles among the 280 language versions . The initiative to create the Luxembourgish-language version of the Wikipedia goes back to the user Briséis, who in July 2004 requested the version lb.wikipedia.org from the Wikimedia Foundation . The first article, Wikipedia , was created on July 21, 2004. The articles Encyclopedia , History , Herodotus and Matthew Perry followed shortly afterwards . The first 1,000 articles were created on September 10, 2004, the first 10,000 on July 23, 2006.

In October 2018, there were 19 active users on Luxembourgish-language Wikipedia who had been active on Wikipedia at least five times in the previous month.
